A new facility for logistics provider FedEx Australia aims to boost the local economy and help small and medium-sized businesses expand both domestically and internationally.

The new facility covers over 2,400 square meters and is equipped with advanced technology that can safely and efficiently sort up to 1,300 packages per hour.

Located close to the highway, it offers convenient access for express pick-up and delivery services in Coffs Harbour and nearby areas. These areas include Grafton to the north and Eungai Creek to the south.

FedEx domestic and international shipments

The facility serves as a collection point for domestic and international shipments, providing seamless transportation services for local importers and exporters.

Peter Langley, vice president of FedEx Australasia says by investing in infrastructure enhancements and service improvements in the country, the business will enable faster and more efficient freight movement across the country.

“This expansion will not only strengthen our regional network and overall service offerings, but it also empowers local businesses to retain or even gain market share by providing the best possible last-mile delivery experience for their customers,” says Langley.

FedEx’s global operations

Last month, the logistics giant launched FedEx Surround®, a smart solution aimed at boosting logistics and supply chain management.

This tool will help businesses quickly identify and address potential issues, minimizing disruptions and enhancing overall efficiency.

This solution is now available in Singapore and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with plans to expand soon to other Asia-Pacific markets like China, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Korea, and Taiwan.

Across the pond in the US, returns have become a little easier for online shoppers thanks to a partnership between Inmar Post-Purchase Solutions and Doddle. The collaboration will create 2,000 drop-off locations at FedEx offices across the U.S.

Inmar Post-Purchase Solutions focuses on improving and managing the return process for retailers and consumers.

United Kingdom

Earlier this year, FedEx Express UK added a new e-cargo bike to its delivery fleet, expanding its e-cargo operations in London. FedEx now operates 34 e-cargo bikes in the UK.

The company partnered with Electric Assisted Vehicles Ltd (EAV) to develop this new model, which is designed for all-weather conditions and cargo deliveries.
