DoorDash in Canada and Walmart have teamed up, giving customers a unique browsing experience from tens of thousands of Walmart items.

These products range from fresh produce and kitchenware to pet food and electronics.

The DoorDash and Walmart partnership is a unique way to give customers access to 300 Walmart Supercenter locations.

These are located in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

DoorDash adding value to customers

Customers can even continue to add items to their cart until a Dasher arrives at a particular store to begin the shopping.

“DoorDash opens our doors to Canadians who are strapped for time. They might be in need of last-minute items or prefer to shop from the comfort of their home,” says Walmart’s Ignacio Baladron. He suggests that this is perfect just in time for the peak holiday season.

Instacart faces competition with new partnership

Supermarket News is reporting that this partnership comes as a “challenge” for Instacart. In 2022, it joined forces with Walmart Canada, enabling shoppers to receive their online orders in half an hour.

Called Walmart Now, the virtual store offers nearly 4,000 items for delivery in a short time. According to Grocery Dive, Instacart fulfills orders from 10 of Walmart’s stores.

Instacart’s future with AI

Recently Instacart launched a new shopping experience intertwined with artificial intelligence (AI).

To fast track the buyer’s journey and get customers to spend their money faster, this technology is helping shoppers to make faster decisions.

Instacart is introducing personalized digital flyers. This can help customers spot sales and promotions on regular items across multiple stores.

There are also features like ‘buy it again’ and ‘personal planogram’ for each shopper.
