With the help of new technology released by Toast, a small local restaurant can now have its own mobile app and create a direct relationship with its customers.
The restaurant tech supplier is now allowing operators to build their own applications to connect more with their customers. Nearly 70% of the world now has access to the mobile internet.
With Toast’s new product release, restaurants can easily customize their white-labeled app by customizing it to their colors and branding while including images. Restaurants will also be able to send push notifications.
Why restaurants need a mobile app
Whether customers would want to download yet another app on their devices is a valid question.
Toast’s data shows that when a customer orders through a branded app, they are four times more likely to buy again compared to when they order from a website.
Reaching new guests is important to staying competitive in the restaurant environment. Toast co-founder Steve Fredette says the new features will allow restaurants to make a “direct and personal connection” with customers.
How can small restaurants create their own app?
Toast’s branded mobile app will allow business owners to launch their own iOS and Android apps.
Here’s how restaurants will benefit from these features.
- They will be able to own and amplify their brand with a logo, fonts, colors, and images of their choice.
- Increase repeat orders with features like ‘previous order suggestions’.
- Connect with customers with push notifications and time-sensitive promos to capture their attention.
Toast launches SMS marketing feature
Apart from allowing small restaurants to compete with larger restaurants, SMS marketing also boosts the smaller players
According to a Toast survey, 57% of guests are interested in receiving texts from their favorite restaurants.
With AI and automation, restaurants can easily navigate through quick updates at strategic peak time windows when customers are most likely hungry.
Toast says with SMS marketing, restaurants can send subscribers marketing campaigns, promotional offers, and messages in real-time. This can help increase sales and keep guests coming back.
