A partnership signed between Wish operator ContextLogic and Singapore Post is expected to see faster parcel deliveries for Australian customers. In a joint statement, the two signatories revealed parcels will arrive in less than two weeks at their doorsteps, instead of waiting three weeks for delivery. Another added feature is that customers will now be able to trace their packages from the warehouse to its final destination.
Why is Wish orders taking longer than other online shopping?
Up until now Australians had to wait nearly a month for their Wish orders to arrive at home. It feels extra longer than the waiting period from other e-commerce websites. Items ordered on Wish sometimes have to travel around the globe, imported from other countries or continents. “Sometimes orders need to be bundled or packaged with other similar-sized items for shopping cost efficiency and effectiveness,” explains Wish.
To add it to the mix, there could be shopping carrier delays or other events that could also impact the estimated time of arrival of a parcel. Additionally, external factors, such as current events or shipping carrier delays, may change the actual arrival date of your item.
Tracking Wish orders now included for Australians
One fundamental improvement to the delivery of Wish parcels to Australians is the live tracking of a parcel. Not only will it now arrive faster, but customers can also track the parcel.
Customers will receive a shipment notification email, which will include the estimated delivery time for each item, once shipped. This will help contribute to more customer satisfaction and overall improve the customer experience.
Wish has over a decade’s experience
Wish is one of the largest mobile e-commerce platforms. Founded in 2010, the US platform connects millions of consumers to hundreds of thousands of merchants globally. In its latest financial report released this month, it showed a 42% decline in revenue year-on-year and a $78 million revenue for the second quarter of 2023.
Just recently the Australian Associated Press reported that Wish offers a flat rate shipping fee in all of its major markets. It only applies to all eligible items over 10 AUD.
