Maersk has started operations at a new warehouse in Denain, Northern France, offering fulfillment services for a top global e-commerce company. The facility is strategically located in one of Europe’s key logistics hubs.

Why does this matter? With booming online shopping, such facilities meet the rising demand for quicker order fulfilment and seamless logistics for major e-commerce players.

Maersk’s new French warehouse: Key highlights

This business move signifies a major milestone for Maersk. The warehouse in France spans 75,000 m² and is part of the GLP Park Denain, which covers a total area of 100,000 square-meters.

Prime location: Situated near Lille in the Hauts-de-France region, a key logistics hub, the facility is surrounded by a population of half a million residents within a 30-minute radius.

Strategic connectivity: The warehouse benefits from easy access to 12 motorways and rail connections, ensuring seamless transportation.

At the heart of key routes: Positioned at the junction of the A2 and A21 motorways, the site is 109 km from Brussels and 198 km from Paris.

Waterway advantage: The facility is located along the Grand Canal de l’Escaut, part of the Scheldt River, enhancing its multimodal logistics capabilities.

Michele Cohonner Regional Head of Maersk Contract Logistics in Europe says: “The go-live of this new facility marks a true milestone for Maersk in France, bringing our contract logistics and warehousing capabilities in this key European market to a completely new level.”

Maersk expands: 15 countries and counting
