Emirates has taken the lead in the Move to -15ºC global coalition. As the first airline to join, the business brings its expertise in transporting perishable goods to support this initiative.
The Move to -15°C Coalition was founded in 2023 after the release of the Three Degrees of Change report, supported by DP World and created by experts from the International Institute of Refrigeration, the University of Birmingham, and London South Bank University.
Launched at COP28 in the UAE, the Move to -15ºC coalition aims to change frozen food temperature standards to cut energy use in the supply chain.
The idea is that lowering the standard by three degrees can benefit the environment without affecting food quality or safety.
The coalition brings together industry partners to test this idea, share data, propose changes, and work with policymakers to drive awareness and action.
