Logistics giant Amazon has introduced the fully-managed, end-to-end ‘Supply Chain by Amazon’ service to sellers.
This is available to all US sellers starting with domestic pickups this October and expanding to global pickups by year-end. This service streamlines the supply chain process, making it more turnkey and accessible.
Why does this matter? An initiative like this matters because it addresses critical challenges that many sellers face in managing logistics and optimizing delivery times.
Flexible options and automated solutions for sellers
Sellers can choose which services to use and manage product movement themselves. Alternatively, sellers can opt for Amazon’s fully-managed service for automated product movement.
Sellers provide product details and pickup locations, and Amazon handles the rest, including carrier pickup, inventory consolidation, and strategic replenishment.
For optimized product placement, Amazon places products in fulfillment centers closest to customers to improve delivery times. Added to this is the feature of continuous optimization based on demand, inventory levels, and costs.
Faster delivery using Amazon’s fully-managed supply chain
Sellers are experiencing a 20% boost in sales by using Amazon’s fully-managed supply chain. Faster delivery speeds are driving higher sales conversions, showing how improved logistics can directly impact business growth.
Amazon business developments
Earlier this month, Amazon introduced a new tool that will enable sellers in the merchant fulfillment network to expand their business to 39 European countries.
The Export Central tool is a key component of Amazon’s broader, free-to-use European Export Programme, which allows sellers to export products from six major stores: the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. In addition, the Netherlands store exports to Belgium only.
Global supply chain management market
Grand View Research reports the global supply chain market is expected to achieve good growth over the next six years.
“The rapidly growing adoption of information technology and technical breakthroughs improves and supports the overall supply chain, contributing to market expansion,” reads the report.
