Party City is partnering with Instacart to bring same-day deliveries to the entertainment business.
Some people plan a party for months ahead, while others are more last-minute scramblers. That’s why this partnership, which brings party planning to customers’ front door with same-day delivery, is a brilliant initiative.
Customers can now shop from over 700 Party City stores across North America on Instacart for same-day delivery in under an hour.
From bankruptcy to new initiative
Just a year ago, things were looking bleak for Party City as it was engulfed in bankruptcy.
CNN reported that it exited bankruptcy in September 2023 after a judge approved the retailer’s reorganization plans.
Nearly $1 billion of Party City’s debt was canceled, and a few hundred stores were closed down.
New beginning with same-day delivery
With a sharp focus on convenience, Party City’s new business model is based on convenience and is less time-consuming.
“Same-day delivery means the platform’s users can get what they need without missing a beat of the celebration, for everything from last-minute Halloween party decorations to extra balloons for their child’s birthday,” says Shannon Symalla, chief marketing officer at Party City.
The new online one-stop shop is helping Party City reach a wider audience of customers, especially after it had to close down 800 stores during the bankruptcy phase.
Party City is one of the largest party goods retailers in North America, and Instacart is excited about expanding its offering to customers.
“We’re not only expanding our selection of offerings but also creating a true one-stop shop. This is where customers can now get everything they need for the perfect party through Instacart,” says Blake Wallace, senior director of retail partnerships at Instacart.
Order a party online with Instacart
What makes this online experience even smarter, is not only can customers arrange a party and get decorations delivered in under an hour, but they can also make use of food vendors on Instacart.
“From groceries and prepared meals to decorations and other party supplies. All for that last-minute get-together or grand holiday celebration,” says Wallace.
