E-commerce platform TEMU and Austrian Post have entered a partnership to provide delivery for customers.
TEMU will act as a service provider to the postal company. The partnership will assist TEMU to serve the Austrian market effectively as well as in the busy festive season peak.
Marketplace servicing the globe
TEMU was founded in 2022. It is owned by Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo. The app was the most downloaded app in the US in the last few months of 2022.
TEMU’s marketplace connects consumers with sellers, manufacturers, and brands around the world. The company has relationships with logistics partners like UPS and FedEx for deliveries.
Board director for parcel & logistics at Austrian Post AG said, “We have successfully added another significant global e-commerce player to Austrian Post’s service portfolio. Our collaboration ensures TEMU environmentally friendly, CO2-neutral delivery of high quality. Additionally, we position ourselves as a dependable partner during the Christmas season, facilitating the swift delivery of all online orders to Austrian customers.”
There are some major benefits to international e-commerce. These are:
- The company can easier expand into foreign markets.
- It’s easy to find the right market for your product.
- Your online business can build an online presence fast.
- There is a low barrier to enter the market
Global e-commerce market
The global ecommerce market is set for excellent growth in the next four years. Grand View Research reports established organizations and large enterprises are leaning towards online business due to lesser expenditure in communication and infrastructure. “E-commerce offers the organization an easier reach for the customers, and hence necessary exposure to business is also achieved.”
Meanwhile, Mordor Intelligence reports European e-commerce experienced significant growth in B2C turnover in recent years, despite some countries reporting lower e-commerce sales due to the lessening of Covid-19 pandemic measures. “Eastern Europe has experienced higher growth rates in B2C e-commerce sales than many Western European countries. However, Western Europe still holds the largest share of total turnover at 63% compared to Eastern Europe’s 2% (as of 2021), per the European E-commerce report 2022.”
Integration for better UK customer experience
Another online platform has come forward to provide customers with improved experiences. TikTok Shop has announced a new partnership with Royal Mail to assist merchants on its platform to have a better experience.
Now, merchants can integrate the Royal Mail’s ‘Click and Drop’ service with TikTok Shop. This will help merchants provide customers with a better delivery. The new initiative applies to merchants of all sizes. Sellers will also be able to view their TikTok Shop orders together with other sales channels in one place.
