Royal Mail is making parcel delivery even more convenient with its new drop-off service through the Collect+ network. Now, customers can easily drop off parcels at any of the 700+ Collect+ locations in popular stores like Londis and local newsagents across the UK, with plans to expand to 5,000 locations by summer.
Whether customers are sending a package via first or second Class, or using Tracked 24 or Tracked 48, they can securely send small and large parcels for both returns and prepaid deliveries.
Simply print a label or generate a QR code online and drop a parcel off with ease. Soon, the service will also allow customers to collect online purchases from these convenience stores.
Out of home network offering
Nick Landon, chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, says: “By giving our customers access to the Collect+ network we are significantly increasing the number of locations where they can drop off parcels and giving them more options to do so during weekends and evenings.
In March, Royal Mail announced a partnership with Quadient for a parcel locker network in the UK.
Nick Wiles, CEO of PayPoint, says this latest initiative marks an important step in the roll-out of our Royal Mail partnership, with customers now able to use Collect+ on a nationwide basis across the UK. “We have a number of activities planned for the coming year to promote this service and invest in its success as part of our Out of Home network offering,” says Wiles.
Why is this initiative important for businesses:
Placing drop-off points in foot traffic in high-traffic areas makes it easier for customers to return, collect, or send parcels as part of their daily routine. This reduces the effort needed to find dedicated service centers.
Convenient parcel services improve customer satisfaction, building loyalty and encouraging repeat business.
UK postal service market
Mordor Intelligence reports the UK postal service market is estimated to achieve good growth in the next five years. “The United Kingdom courier, express, and parcel (CEP) market is growing with the increasing number of same-day delivery transactions.
Due to the powerful digital trends driving the market, the United Kingdom and Italy have been the fastest-growing markets in the European region. The key market players are continuously reinventing the post and parcel industry with technology-driven innovations.”
