UK-based courier Speedy Freight has announced it will launch its first US office, based in Dallas, Texas.
The new Dallas office will meet all third-party logistics (3PL) needs, including full truckloads, less-than-truckloads, drayage, express same-day services, and cross-border operations. This launch follows the company’s recent EU expansion, with new offices in Dublin and Spain.
How will the logistics process be managed? Speedy Freight offers to manage the entire logistics process with their custom in-house software. This software that handles job management, provides status updates, and offers an online customer portal.
Clients can view quotes, active jobs, and invoices in one place.
John Munnelly, Speedy Freight’s COO, says, “Expansion to the USA has always been a goal for the business, and thanks to our outstanding year-on-year growth, we feel now is the perfect time to open our first North American branch.”
Importance of Texas in logistics
Texas is centrally located, making it an ideal distribution point for goods traveling across the United States. Its proximity to Mexico also facilitates cross-border trade and nearshoring operations.
The state boasts a vast, well-developed transportation infrastructure, including major highways, railroads, airports, and seaports. This network allows efficient movement of goods within the state, across the country, and internationally.
Mordor Intelligence reports that Texas is better positioned for Asian trade after the Panama Canal expansion, especially given the bottlenecks at West Coast ports.
Speedy Freight’s UK operations
In October, the company launched its tailor-made parcel service, which serves its UK and international customers.
The new offering, Speedy Parcels, will offer businesses flexible collections seven days a week. It will work with various parcel carriers and freight companies. The offering will enable Speedy Freight to place parcels directly into the network of selected carriers. Speed Parcel will accommodate packages and heavy, irregular-sized parcel shipments.

“Accelerating growth of e-commerce and retail sector along with the introduction to new technologies in logistics such as advanced driver assistance system and adaptive cruise control system are thriving the growth of the third-party logistics market,” reads the report.
